Savages

People don’t realize it,
They see it every day.
What if you were stranded on an uncivilized nation?
What if you started changing?
Your sense of right and wrong; gone.
What then will you be?
I’ll tell you.
That world that you left behind will move on,
Civilized nations move on,
But you, you will not,
Cause your stranded on this island,
That will take your civilized mind away,
Then your instincts take over.
You won’t realize it until you look in a mirror,
Your mind slowly twists itself and molds itself,
The only sanity that you will have,
Is about the equivalent of what you’ll become.

People don’t realize it until they are gone,
Their mind switches off from what they once were,
And turned on to what they don’t want to become,
Savages
The savage mind takes control,
And once in control,
All of what was bad turns good
All of what was good turns bad,
In the eyes of the beholder,
Civilization dies off in the mind,
Savagery takes over,
It is only then that people know what they become.
Only in time can civil minds come back in a civil world,
Or all is lost and savagery wins.
